Contain and Display is a pavilion designed for the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. The structure explores the relationship between crossing lines and how they intersect and interrupt one another. Throughout the pavilion, visitors can interact closely with the chair contained inside and weave in and out of the structure as the interior and exterior spaces begin to blend together.
This project began with a simple elevation drawing of a Google Chromecast.
Containment units were then built to hold the object in different ways. Then the object drawing was projected onto the container to produce colorful patterns.
The final form is an obstruction of the previous display container composed of ten uniquely sized arches.
Structure serves as a pavilion that is meant to hold views and display a single chair.
